CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST & NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Durish is a Registered Psychologist with competencies in clinical psychology and neuropsychology with children and adolescents. She obtained an Honours B.A. with Specialization in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, as well as an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calgary. She completed a Pre-Doctoral Residency in Pediatric Psychology and Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
Dr. Durish takes a neuro-developmental, brain-in-context, biopsychosocial approach to assessment to understand the whole child, with the goal of providing tailored recommendations to optimize functioning. Her evidence-based approach to therapy combines principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindful self-compassion, and/or positive parenting in a manner tailored to her clients’ needs and presenting concerns.

Dr. Portt is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She completed an Honours B.A. with Specialization in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University. Dr. Portt completed her Pre-Doctoral Residency at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

At Kinpsych, Dr. Portt provides psychodiagnostic assessments to help clarify mental health challenges, strengths, and treatment recommendations. She also provides therapy for various difficulties such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and emotion regulation challenges. Dr. Portt takes an integrative and evidence-based approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual, drawing upon modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. She aims to empower clients to work towards their individual goals to improve overall wellbeing and quality of life.
